Nairobi – Technology company IBM has announced the appointment of Julia Carvalho as Managing Director of IBM Growth Markets, Africa.
Carvalho will be responsible for IBM’s business operations, growing the company’s partner ecosystem, and customer satisfaction across multiple regions of Africa.
Carvalho will also lead the effort to strengthen IBM’s business on the continent through a deeper level of technical expertise and industry experience to further strengthen the growth of our business, our customers and our customers. partners on the continent.

Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, IBM Growth Markets, Africa, Carvalho served as Managing Director for Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde and Sao Tome.
She helped expand IBM’s footprint and led customers’ digital transformation journeys around our key strategic imperatives of hybrid cloud and AI.
Prior to joining IBM, she led sales at Halliburton – Landmark Software and Services and was previously a professor and researcher at the University of Lisbon.
Previously, Carvalho was a consultant at Sonangol P&P and Sonagas and headed the Natural Resources business unit at Sinfic in Angola.
