Aldi NOW has 300 vacancies at Tyne & Wear, with hundreds more needed


Aldi is set to create hundreds of new jobs ahead of the holiday season as it prepares for its biggest Christmas ever – with over 300 available now across Tyne & Wear.

The supermarket is looking to fill temporary and permanent in-store positions to help restock inventory and provide additional support to customers during this busy time.

In addition, Aldi is currently recruiting for over 850 positions across 11 regional distribution centers across the UK for a number of permanent positions including warehouse selectors, logistics assistants and truck drivers.

These are just a few of the roles the company is looking to fill:

Assistant Manager at Sunderland Road, Gateshead

£11.50 – £12.40 per hour

In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, you will be fully responsible for the store, gaining valuable experience to help you take your next step in management.

Store Assistant at McKendrick Villas, Newcastle

£10.50 – £11.40 per hour

You’ll do everything from checking deliveries to handling inquiries or ensuring shelves are fully stocked with well-presented products.

Store cleaner in Dunston

£10.30 – £10.30 per hour

It will allow you to tackle tasks such as clearing trash and debris from the parking lot and loading bay. Wash exterior windows and glass doors until they shine.

Store Management Trainee at Fawdon

£7.01 – £10.24 per hour

One thing is for sure, as a Retail Store Management Apprentice, you will never be bored. Balancing theory with hands-on in-store work, you’ll need to work hard on this three-year program.

Store Assistant at Albert Road, Darlington

£10.50 – £11.40 per hour

It’s a very fast-paced environment, and everyone understands exactly what needs to happen to make their store a success – and get on with it.

Area Manager (Career Changer) in Darlington

Throughout the intensive training program you will get an overview of how we do things at Aldi to become part of our talented team of Area Managers. This training program will be the first step in revitalizing your career.

Career Starter (Logistics) at Darlington Distribution Center

£6.96 – £6.96 per hour

You’ll spend a year learning the ropes from experienced warehouse professionals. You will be trained in all aspects of health and safety while working towards your Level 2 Supply Chain Operator qualification.

Store Management Apprentice in West Park, Darlington

£7.01 – £10.24 per hour

Time will fly by and before you know it you will have your Level 3 Retail Team Leader qualification and be working as a full Assistant Store Manager.

Deputy Director at Yarm

£11.50 – £12.40 per hour

You will take real pride in maximizing sales, providing excellent customer service, minimizing costs and optimizing operational efficiency.

Stock Assistant at St Marks Rd Sunderland

£10.30 – £10.30 per hour

You will work hard to minimize stock losses, assist with inventory, verify deliveries and ensure shelves are well stocked.

Assistant Store Manager in Sunderland

£33,815 – £41,235 per year

One day, you might be called upon to help the store manager sort deliveries, place orders, or handle customer questions. The next day, you could focus on people management and performance or organizing vacation rotations for the team.

Store Management Apprentice at Hylton Riverside Park Sunderland

£7.01 – £10.24 per hour

Aldi also remains the only supermarket in the UK to offer paid breaks, which for the average store colleague are now worth more than £830 a year.
