VAN HORNE – The Benton County Community Foundation (BCCF), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, will be hosting a public workshop for grant applicants on January 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Van Horne Community Center, 508 First Ave., Van Horne. Individuals, especially those who wish to apply for a grant, are encouraged to attend the workshop and should confirm their attendance online at www.cfneia.org/benton-atelier.
During the workshop, BCCF committee members will review any changes to the grant guidelines, budget template and application, in addition to answering questions. Workshop participants will also hear from Dotti Thompson, Program Manager for the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.
The BCCF 2022 grant application opens on January 1, with a deadline for submitting applications on March 15 at 5 p.m. The online grant application will be available on the BCCF website at www.bentonccf.org. Grants may be awarded for projects in the fields of arts and culture, community improvement, education and youth development, environment and animal welfare, health and human service.
Grants are available for 501 (c) (3) nonprofits and government entities. Tax-exempt organizations classified as other than 501 (c) (3) are also eligible, if, and only if, the project is considered charitable; contact Dotti Thompson at (319) -243-1358 or [email protected] to discuss project eligibility before submitting a proposal. Grant selections are made with the goal of creating a better quality of life for the residents of Benton County. A local steering committee reviews applications from charities serving their community.
