Discover local art and family fun while helping the Shepherd of the Hills Humane Society at the first-ever Technicolor Tattoos family art and entertainment fair on Saturday August 13th.
The event, which is the brainchild and passion project of Technicolor tattoo studio owners Jason and Harlee Holloway of will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. inside the Branson Event Center at Shoppes at Branson Meadows, located at 4230 Gretna Road in Branson. This is a free event open to the public offering family entertainment.
“It’s a chance for people to get out of the heat and meet local area artists, businesses and vendors in a fun, friendly, family-friendly environment,” Harlee told Branson Tri-Lakes News. “It will also give us, at Technicolor Tattoo Studio, the chance to show that we offer tattoos, piercings and henna in a family environment.”
Technicolor Tattoo Studio is owned and operated by the Holloways. Jason Holloway is a local tattoo artist who opened the shop six years ago and Harlee helps her husband run the business while looking after their two children. Technicolor Tattoo Studio isn’t your typical tattoo shop, according to Harlee.
“We’re a local family business that’s been around for six years and we wanted the opportunity to showcase our studio as an environment the whole family can feel comfortable in,” Harlee said. “It’s a little different from a stereotypical tattoo shop, it’s bright, friendly and themed around a 50s restaurant. Just like it’s a little different for a tattoo shop to have a community event. It’s also a little known fact that we attend other events like doing henna tattoos for seniors at Project Graduation for some area high schools.
The Holloways love giving back to the community and hold a special place in their hearts for the work done by the Shepherd of the Hills Humane Society, Harlee said.
“As a family we have been very involved in some of the kitten/cat foster homes for local humane society so we have teamed up with our friends at Mochas and Meows Cat Cafe to come up with something fun and exciting for the community,” said Harlee. “It brings together the art of tattooing, body art and body piercing with other local artists and other local business people. This event will give us the opportunity to give back to the community. This year all proceeds from the raffle will be used to support the Shepherd of the Hills Humane Society.
Those who attend the event can expect to see lots of artwork from local artists, family games and activities for children.
“At this event, you can expect face paint, henna, glitter and temporary tattoos, an indoor bouncy house and games. We will have paint, marbles, jewelry and more. merchandise to purchase at the various kiosks. You can expect fun special appearances from Nintendo’s Mario, a surprise Disney princess and a few furry friends,” Harlee said. “Keep your eyes peeled because he may be a few other special appearances. We plan to accommodate food trucks in the parking lot, and there will be snacks and drinks for sale inside. You can purchase raffle tickets at the event to win prizes at some of the area attractions and shops.
Although the event is being hosted by Technicolor Tattoo Studio, there will be no piercing or tattooing except for temporary tattoos for children and adults. will take place during the event.
“We are thrilled to host our first-ever community event and look forward to getting more involved in activities in our region. We’re expecting a big turnout this year, but we expect it to be even better next year,” said Harlee. “People will be able to book appointments for tattoos and piercings at the event, but no tattoos or piercings will be done at the event center. All of our jewelry sold by Technicolor Tattoo Studio is made of medical/implant grade titanium.
Booth space is always available for local vendors and artists.
