In this context, they will host a Committed against domestic violence Workshop in partnership with Harbor House of Central Florida, the Victim Service Center and the Orlando Police Department, on October 26, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. live on the Zoom platform.

This workshop will cover topics such as:

  • How to file a restraining order
  • Tips from Harbor House of Central Florida
  • How to Cultivate Healthy Relationships from the Victim Service Center
  • Self-defense course organized by the Orlando Police Department.

According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence from an intimate partner. “The safety of those seeking protection from family violence will always be a top priority for my office,” said Clerk Russell.

The Orange County Clerk is an End Violence Advocate. Their Family Services Injunction Team helps those affected by domestic, repeated, sexual, dating, dating and stalking violence obtain protective restraining orders which are available year-round at no cost.

Domestic violence affects not only the victims, but also family and friends. To register for the webinar, please visit Family Violence Clerks Webinar page.
