See the hosts of a week-long beginner’s pottery workshop

OLD FORGE – Instructor Carol Marie Vossler will lead a Beginner Approach Week at the Pottery Wheel Workshop October 11-15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at View, the arts and culture center.

This is a great introductory course for anyone who wants to try their hand at wheel pottery. This week-long, ten-hour ‘no judgment’ studio course is designed to introduce the fundamentals of ‘throwing’ clay to those curious about learning how to form and shape pottery on the wheel. Using a step-by-step approach, artist and instructor Carol Marie Vossler will teach the fundamental process of how to hold your hands as you handle clay from a ball in your own piece of pottery.

View Pottery and Workshop Director Elise Incze will glaze all the pieces after they are biscuit fired. Students can also make an appointment with Elise Incze to glaze the creations after their biscuit baking. Clay creations will be available for pickup or shipped after drying, biscuit firing, and glaze firing (2-3 weeks). Class is $ 175, $ 150 for View members.
