United Way of the Flint Hills is partnering with Lyon County State Bank, Emporia Police Department and Agler & Gaeddert Chartered to offer a theft prevention workshop to local nonprofits.
The workshop is focused on sharing strategies on how to prevent fraud, embezzlement and other types of theft that can endanger nonprofits and how it can impact their work. with the community.
United Way fundraising co-chair and EPD captain Lisa Hayes says the workshop was created because there is typically no theft prevention training for all agency members. , with the exception of the treasurer.
The workshop is free and will take place from noon to 3 p.m. on November 16 at the Lyon County State Bank Community Hall where lunch will also be provided. Nonprofits wishing to participate should register by November 9 at www.uwfh.org/registration.
