AN ARTIST based in the outskirts of Oswestry will be holding an open studio to demonstrate his work next month.
Brian Owen will host the open house at his home in West Felton over two separate weekends in June, Saturday and Sunday 11-12 and 18-19.
The Open Workshop, held in conjunction with Borderland Visual Arts (BVA), is a free event where Brian will showcase his portfolio of oil paintings inspired by local landscapes and nature captures.
A spokesperson for the artist, who primarily does oil paintings, said the star of the day show would be ‘Brian’s Brown Trout’.
He said: “The main event will see Brian officially unveil his most ambitious piece to date – ‘Brian’s Big Brown Trout’.
“The striking mural measures 18 feet 3 inches and will be on public display for the first time.”
Working at the Marches House Studio, Brian uses water and fish as a big part of his work.
He said: “I am an impressionist landscape painter working with mixed media, trying to capture the ever-changing faces of our countryside, its moods and colors.
“The seduction of water is predominant in my work, especially in my many paintings of fish.”
